The Order of St. John raises $25,000 for Frederiksted Health Care, Inc

The Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller is a Christian Society whose mission is to improve the lives of the Poor and the Sick.  Each year the members of the Society select an organization in the community that serves the poor and or the sick and raises fund to help support the organization’s mission.  In 2019, the Organization selected Frederiksted Health Care, Inc. (FHC).   The members decided to host a Silent Auction at The Fred on February 8, 2020.   Tours of the Ingeborg Nesbitt, FHC’s main site were hosted to attendees of the Auction.  The Auction was a beautiful evening.  The ambiance was wonderful and the event was well attended and supported.  The Auction raised $25,000 to support FHC’s services to the Homeless and High Risk Pregnancies.   FHC provides services to the Homeless, medical, dental, behavioral health and housing assistance.  FHC also provides prenatal services; several of the patients are high risk and have limited financial resources for some of the medical care needed.

On February  28, 2020, Members of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller visited FHC and presented a check for the Funds Raised to Board Members, Management and some Staff of Frederiksted Health Care, Inc.  The Board of Directors, Management Staff and Patients of FHC are extremely appreciative of the Order of St. John for selecting and raising $25,000 to support such needed services at FHC.

The Order of St. John, Board and staff members solicited businesses for donations for auction items. The business community on St. Croix was extremely supportive and the Order of St. John are Thankful to all who contributed to making the Auction a great success. The FHC Board and Management is especially appreciative of our staff who shared their talents by donating some of their art work for the auction. FHC staff go above and beyond to expand service to our community.
