FHC hosted a Soft Opening for it’s Dental Expansion at the Northshore Health Center

FHC hosted a Soft Opening for their Dental Expansion at the Northshore Health Center. Donors, Board of Directors, Management and staff mingled and offered tours as they Thanked their donors and Friends of FHC for their ongoing support.

FHC added dental services to Northshore in January 2017 with 3 dental operatories after converting their 3 car garage to operators suites. Since the 2017 opening, with the great demand for dental services, FHC applied for and was awarded a Supplemental grant to expand dental services at Northshore from HRSA, FHC’s major federal grantor. This grant supported most of the renovation activities as FHC renovated what was previously storage space into adding 5 dental operatories. Grant funded the renovations but funds were needed for the equipment.

FHC knocked on the doors of several community organizations and businesses who supported FHC’s vision and donated funds to support equipment needed for the dental expansion.

Virgin Island Department of Health with the encouragement from the V.I. Legislative donated 2 dental chairs. Bennie and Martha Benjamin Foundation outfitted a Dental operatory. Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands outfitted a Dental operatory. Limetree refinery funded a Panorex machine. Sterisil V.I. donated a water purification unit. Representatives of these funding agencies and other supporters of FHC toured the facility and expressed their appreciation for additional dental services for the community.
